I visited Nashville News Channel 5’s Talk of the Town to cook up a full meal with host Lelan Statom. To celebrate Nashville, I grilled my version of Nashville Hot Chicken. My take on the classic recipe isn’t breaded and fried, but sprinkled with baking powder and salt (the perfect combo to get the skin nice and crispy). I also convince Lelan that grilling is the only way to prepare angel food cake—the char caramelizes the sugars of the cake and adds depth to the flavors.
