Light grill and set up for medium heat, allow it to preheat while you prepare the strawberries.
Place 1½ pints of strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a food processor and blend for 45 seconds or until the strawberries become a puree. Pour into a sealable container and leave at room temperature. Any leftover puree can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days.
Slice the angel food cake into 3" thick pieces and place them cut side down on the grill grate, over direct heat. Grill for about two minutes per side, or until the cake becomes lightly charred and toasted.
Plate the cake, and drizzle with strawberry puree. Serve with some fresh whole strawberries, whipped cream, and garnish with mint.
